What exactly does a clarifying shampoo do?

Will it get rid of oily hair, build up, and an itchy scalp if used 4 times a week?

And what's the best one? What exactly does a clarifying shampoo do?
clarifying shampoo is very strong it cleans dirt and oil but it will dry out your scalp even more. it is only meant to be used once a week because you do need some oil on your scalp. i would suggest getting a good dandruff shampoo like redken solve. it will help both of your problems. and you can use it more often. What exactly does a clarifying shampoo do?
It basically just gets rid of buildup. In doing so it will also strip most of the oil from your hair and shouldn't be used often because removing all the oil from your hair is not good for it. For an itchy scalp have you tried rinsing your head with cold water just before you get out of the shower? It should close your pores and help. A good claifyer is really easy to find, because all the old fashioned shampoos were clarifying. Just be aware that these aren't good for color-treated hair. I use Suave daily clarifying once a week and it makes my other hair products work much better.
This is a good product to remove product build up and excess oil. It contains no conditioning agents so I'd advise to condition a little after if you want to get a comb through your hair without damaging it.

it gets rid of the build up of hair product if you use it a lot... it would be good for oily hair, but i don't know if it would do a lot for an itchy scalp. you also might not want to use it as much as 4 times a week, it could strip your hair of its natural oils which keep your hair healthy!
