What are good, cheap clarifying shampoos?

My hair is EXTREMELY thick and it is really hard [and painful] to get product out of my hair.

It is like impossible.

So anyway.

Does anyone know a good cheap clarifying shampoo? I was going to try VO5 Kiwi Clarifying Shampoo, is that good?

By the way, I don't need anything that is like extremely deep cleansing. My hair isn't oily. My hair is normal, if that helps. What are good, cheap clarifying shampoos?
I use Neutrogenia Clarifying shampoo. It works great! It doesn't smell too good though but it gets the product out of your hair. I wouldn't use it every day though. What are good, cheap clarifying shampoos?
forget clarifying shampoos, my stylist says to use a little bit of baking soda with whatever shampoo you currently use and a really good conditioner (make sure it's a REALLY good conditioner because this will take everything out of your hair, including the natural oils that are there and it makes it really hard to get a brush or comb through with out it)

Do this no more than 1x a week and brush your hair root to tips 100x a day between the ';clarifying';
The Pantene Clarifying shampoo worked quite well for me!

so i got my hair done professionally, highlighted and stuff and toned and what not, and it looked awesome! Then my toner started to wash out and i decided to retone it. But i left it in too long and it went a gray/greenish/super ashy color and i HATE IT!! this is what my hair looked like originally after my stylist did the toner and stuff

lol im the one thats blonde, the other guy is my boyfriend :)

(oh and by the way im not asking anybody for their negative opinion on my lifestyle, this is to show u my hair, so if u have something rude to say, take it somewhere else)

i dont have a pic of my hair now, but it fits the description that i first mentioned (grey, greenish/blue, way too ashy).

So i heard that mixing baking soda and a clarifying shampoo would help fade the toner to its normal blonde color. The toner was semi/demi permanent (i used two within three days, my mistake!)

So what should i do?! any advice to fade it back to normal? Thanks to all who answer! :)Will Mixing Baking Soda with a Clarifying Shampoo Help My Badly Toned Blonde Hair?! Pics included?
You have to use something with a warmer tone , with a base in the red spectrum. Use a color wheel, if you have a Grey, greenish/blue, way too ashy, your base color is going to be blue. You use the opposite of that base color that's going to be red. All Color is based on that color wheel (RED, BLUE and YELLOW) You can't use yellow cause your green will be more green. Will Mixing Baking Soda with a Clarifying Shampoo Help My Badly Toned Blonde Hair?! Will vinegar work like a clarifying shampoo?

I have a lot of product buildup in my hair. Would vinegar get rid of it?Will vinegar work like a clarifying shampoo?
Vinegar actually closes the cuticle of the hair, preventing anything on the hair from coming off easily. The best thing to use for buildup is a clarifying shampoo. You can use vinegar after your conditioner to help add shine. Will vinegar work like a clarifying shampoo?
first shampoo hair, then condition, then in a bucket of water, pour 3 tablespoons of vinegar. Then soak your whole hair in the bucket for about 1 minute.... swish..... and rinse with cold water.....
Yes, it's supposed to be terrific for that kind of thing! Good luck.
no.. try a shampoo like pert or prell to get rid of that
I'm not sure.. but I would say just buy a clarifying shampoo by Suave! It works wonderfully for me and it was less than $2 for a value size.
Yeah, it should, the acidity level is pretty high in vinegar so use it as a rinse and then rinse it out really well.

You can also use beer as a conditioner.
Maybe I'm too old fashioned or conservative but I think shampoo is better for your hair than vinegar, but vinegar might be o.k on your hair since its a digestible solution. good for your stomache good for your face for example.
Don't do it!!! It will ruin the alkalinity of your hair and totally strip it so it looks fried. Just use a normal shampoo and it will be fine. Product comes right out w/ shampoo.
Use a clarifying shampoo, never tried vinegar wouldn't like the smell!
Yea, it would. Put the vinegar on and after it soaks in use shampoo and conditioner so your hair doesn't smell like sweaty feet! LOL

HARD WATER and HAIR... clarifying shampoo answer if you really know?

about last year we moved into a new house in fort worth with extremely hard water but my hair was actually fine until about April of last year when i used a vitmain packed shampoo and i belive that all of the shampoo didnt wash out becuas eof the hard water and it caued my hair to be dry but then later on that month my hair began to start breaking and w tried everything to fix it but it just got worst it even became thin a few weeks ago in school we learned about hard water so i did some research and learned that extremely hard water can be very harsh on your hair now im trying to reverse the affects that this hard water has caused so what is a good clarifying shampoo for black peoples hair if anyone knows is KENRA good if you know please let me know i use and olive oil shampoo and conditioer but i will not be using that hard water anymore is iwater.com any good or should i use botteled water HELPPP!!!!HARD WATER and HAIR... clarifying shampoo answer if you really know?
there is NO clarifying shampoo for ';black people's hair';. Try these things:

*Apple Cider Vinegar. Use 1/4 cup for every four cups of water (maybe you can use bottled water?) and pour onto your hair after using conditioner. You'd have to rinse VERY well. Your hair will be really soft and shiny

*baking soda and water. make a paste with this and put it onto your hair

Besides that, using any one you want to. I hear a lot of people use Pantene. I use V05 because it is cheap. Kenra is a very good brand, I'm sure they'd have an excellent clarifying shampoo!HARD WATER and HAIR... clarifying shampoo answer if you really know?
Mane and Tail has a clarifying shampoo Report Abuse

I do think you need to cut the hair off that is broken, to prevent further damage. Its no need to start all over, just cut all the broken ends off and try some kera care products, or razac. Usually you have to get the kera care from a stylists, but you can find razac at a beauty supply store. The best thing to do is use either one of these products and stick with the entire line to treat the hair. Shampoo, Conditioner, etc... Also try a hot oil treatment to prevent further breakage and dryness. Wash your hair once a week, and condition for about a hour with a plastic bag then wash out. Try to keep as much heat away, so sit under a hat dryer with your hair straight or set. This porpotion of heat is better than direct heat from a blowdryer, which is not good for your state of hair. Try this and let me know

Does Pantene Pro-V Clarifying shampoo cause hairloss ?

hey guys, for months ive been thinning badly, my scalp right before the thinning had become overly greasy, and i had to wash sometimes twice a day as i looked like someone had poured Vaseline all over me.

i've been using Head and shoulders (sensitve scalp) and a PTO tea tree oil and it has helped quite a bit but im still thinning slightly due to build up on my scalp.

So i bought Pantene Pro-V Clarifying shampoo hoping it may clean the scalp good, but ive been reading all over the net of people suffering hairloss from pantene products ? :S

So a really dont wanna lose any more hair, does anyone know if the calrifying range from pantene causes hairloss ?

thanksDoes Pantene Pro-V Clarifying shampoo cause hairloss ?
I have used Pantene since it came on the market and I haven't lost any hair. I seriously doubt if a shampoo causes hair loss. If that was the case......people would be suing Pantene and it would be removed off the shelves.Does Pantene Pro-V Clarifying shampoo cause hairloss ?
I have never heard of any shampoo causing hair loss. Have you been to a dermatologist? You may have a scalp infection that requires a prescription shampoo. I suggest going to see a doctor who can properly diagnose your problem. In the meantime, I wouldn't worry about using the Pantene.

From what you describe I would suggest you go see a dermatologist and have them take a look at your scalp. Something is wrong if your getting that greasy that quick.

I'm also curious as to why you would use a tea tree oil on your scalp if you are using a shampoo for sensitive scalp... tea tree oil is anything but gentle... frankly I might wonder if your scalp is having a reaction to the tea tree oil...

Pantene or any other shampoo isn't going to cause hair loss unless your allergic to something in it... if you are so concerned about a shampoo hurting your hair, then start using baby shampoo.

First step is stop using the tea tree stuff... next step go see a doctor and have him check out your scalp, if you've jacked it up enough with the tea tree oil you might actually require a steroid medication to get your scalp to stop reacting as it is.Does Pantene Pro-V Clarifying shampoo cause hairloss ?
pantene is a good product you are just using the wrong ones...the clarifying shampoo is used for when for example..you are planning to get a treatment done but you use a lot of junk in your hair,, you would then use the clarifying shampoo to ';clarify'; you hair of anything thats getting in the way of the treatment doing its job ..its not an everyday use shampoo. check this out http://www.pantene.com/jsp/category/cate鈥?/a>

thats the list of shampoos.. i suggest the Moisture Renewal Shampoo

    good luck
    Dont use Pantene!

    when you use pantene you

';think'; your getting your hair washed

of all the stuff but its actually very bad for your

hair.it's not removing the stuff its putting it

in so dont use pantene.go ask someone

at a salon about it and they'll say the samething.

it really doesnt work for my hair anyways.
Pantene is my favorite shampoo. I have been using it for years but i never loss massive amounts of hair. Every shampoo, you use will lead to losing some hair in the shower. Good luck and if you think your gonna lose hair don't use it.
Don't know but my thinning hair has improved by Aveda prloducts my hair has improved no end. P..S no advert nonsense
Pantene is a very very harsh shampoo!! Not sure about the hair loss..
Any shampoo with sodium laureth sulfate in the ingredients is a harsh shampoo. This includes Pantene and just about every well known ';brand name'; on the market. I used Pantene before I researched ingredients and found out the hard way, like you, that this shampoo is terrible. Sodium laureth sulfate is a very harsh detergent that is better suited to washing a car than delicate hair. It is always the 2nd ingredient listed in the list.

I use organic shampoos now that are vegan and/or say ';SULFATE FREE';. A little more expensive, but I wash my hair every other day as well so I don't mind paying a bit more for shampoo.

Try Burt's Bees, Soma, Jonathan's, Pureology, Giovanni. These are are the top that I can think of at the moment. I have used them all at times LOL Yes I am a little anal about my hair and shampoos now!

My hair is much healthier, shiny, and less breakage.
