I feel kinda stupid:P but what EXACTLY is a clarifying shampoo?

i've heard of it before im just not sure what exactly it is..isnt it to like wash out chemicals from your hair?I feel kinda stupid:P but what EXACTLY is a clarifying shampoo?
Stuff builds up on your hair, all kinds of stuff. Hairsprays, mousses, and gels; hard water and mineral deposits; chlorine and chemicals from swimming pools; even the waxes and moisturizers in some shampoos and conditioners can leave build up on your hair over time. This build up can cause hair to appear dull, heavy, greasy, and limp. A clarifying shampoo can help remove those deposits, give your hair a fresh start, and restore shine.I feel kinda stupid:P but what EXACTLY is a clarifying shampoo?
Clarifying shampoo strips the hair of oils and products, cleaning the hair.

Moisturizing shampoo does just what it says.

Swimmer's shampoo removes chlorine and pool chemicals from the hair for frequent swimmers.

Chelating shampoo removes mineral deposits and buildup from the hair.

Neutralizing shampoo neutralizes the pH from chemical treatments/relaxers.
It removes buildup. If you condition often then you will need a clarifier b/c your hair will be gunked up.

A clarifying shampoo strips the hair...somewhat...

You don't use it often.
Clarifying shampoo brings out the natural color in your hair. It does help wash out chemicals, too.
