I've heard baking soda is a good clarifying shampoo.?

is this a bad idea?I've heard baking soda is a good clarifying shampoo.?
Baking soda is a good cleanser for all kinds of things around the house. Use it often. It is also a good cleanser for the hair and scalp. Too many of the commercial shampoos contain too much junk in them which coat the hair and eventually will cause problems. Part of the problem is that most people just do not rinse the shampoo out. Hard to believe, but I see that in the shop every day. You can see it when you rinse in the bowl, or you can smell it when they walk in the shop (yes, we can tell).

You can mix up about 1 tablespoon in a glass of water. You can work that into the hair either before a shampoo, or after. Give it a few moments to work. It will loosen any foreign material on the hair, and then it's easier for the shampoo to clear it away. Again, you need to rinse very well after a shampoo. You may need another treatment if you have heavy build-up, and then regular maintenance treatments periodically depending on your needs.I've heard baking soda is a good clarifying shampoo.?
I've known hair dressers who have used it to help strip color. I would use it sparingly. If you really want to use a clarifying shampoo. Neutrogena makes one.
Yes, I've tried it. It is good. It will give different results if you are permed, relaxed, dyed....so be careful.
Yes and a great solution if you'd like to stop using shampoo. Using baking soda not only makes your hair wayyy cleaner, its very good for the environment compared to the stuff shampoo has in it (like harsh sulfates). When you use baking soda, mix it with 2 parts water to create a paste and follow it up with a good conditioner, or if you want to go all natural, apple cider vinegar, which makes your hair very shiny. This process can even create, or tame, waves.

BUT, you should not wash your hair with baking soda everyday. it will dry out your hair. instead use it every other day for beautiful shiny hair!
