Clarifying shampoo takes out oils and chemicals from the scalp and hair so it will 'lighten' the color, but probably not the way you want. It will mostly look faded. If you want to get rid of permanent color you should go to a hairstylist. There are products they can use to remove permanent color with minimal to no damage.Can you use clarifying shampoo to lighten permanent dark brown hair color?
it'll look like crap. go blonde. or stay dark.
